Since Xport Wizard communicates with Xcelsius via XML connectors in the Workgroup or Designer versions of Crystal Xcelsius 4.0 or higher versions.

Will Xport Wizard work on my desktop?
Xport Wizard is a web server based application that requires IIS. Assuming you have IIS installed on your machine with .NET 2.0 and administrative rights, you can run Xport Wizard on your local PC. This configuration is not recommended since you will be the only person with access to Xport Wizard services.

Is there a technical limit to the number of users for Xport Wizard?
The number of users for Xport Wizard is only limited to the hardware powering the services. Xport Wizard services are lightweight and generally will not put strain on system resources.

Will Xport Wizard write XML to my SQL Data Base?
Xport Wizard 1.0 is designed to generate physical XML files on your server. Once these files are created you are free to use them for any other process. There is no built-in functionality allowing Xport Wizard to write data to any data base at this time.

Is there any security built into Xport Wizard?
There is no security built into the Xport Wizard application out of the box. Because Xport Wizard is loaded with an HTML wrapper, you can leverage any security model to lock down the Xport Wizard application. Access to the Xport Wizard services can be restricted by the application used to execute the services.

Can I setup Xport Wizard to run through HTTPS?
Yes. Both the Xport Wizard application and the services generated with Xport Wizard will work through HTTPS. This configuration is done by the IT server administrator.

Does a dashboard have to be on the same web server as Xport Wizard?
No. There is a cross domain policy file (crossdomain.xml) located in the “Services” folder that grants access to the services if a dashboard lives on another domain. You can modify this cross domain policy file to restrict access to specific domains.

Will Xport Wizard work with Tomcat Server ?
Xport Wizard can not be installed directly on a Tomcat server, because it relies on .NET 2.0 which will only work on IIS. The good news is Xport Wizard does not need to reside on the same server as your dashboard files (.SWF). If you have a Windows Server with IIS anywhere on your network, you can connect Xport Wizard to your dashboard just as easy as if they were on the same server.
