Visualizing Strategy-Execution with GMaps Plugin at SAP 505 World Championship

For the first time, sailors can use an interactive dashboard and mapping system to create a model of the best possible route for each day's race. Their strategy is based on an SAP-created mash-up of Xcelsius(R), the SAP data visualization software, combined with Google maps, GPS data, information on winds and currents and a sailing-planning application from third-party providers. By pulling together these data sources and applications via Web services - and adding a layer of data visualization, reporting and analytics - Xcelsius will return a visual, interactive model that shows the most efficient way to reach each turn point under a given set of wind and current conditions. Xcelsius connectivity to Google maps, live GPS racing data, real-time wind and current conditions, as well as navigational software, is provided respectively by software vendors Centigon Solutions, TracTrac and Local Knowledge.

CSV Beta Announced

In June 2009, Centigon Solutions will release launch a public beta of the new CSV connector component. This new component will enable organizations to connect directly to CSV files which can be loaded directly into Xcelsius.

"Any database or reporting solution can export to CSV", said Ryan Goodman, founder of Centigon Solutions. "We want to make it easy for everyone to access data without relying on web services and XML mapping when it is not required."

Intended for use with web applications, CSV Connector BETA will enable developers to connect directly to CSV files that reside on an application server.

New Component Versions Available

Today, Centigon Solutions Inc. released new versions of Background Builder, Dynamic Sort, Reverse Selector, and Filtered Summary for Xcelsius 2008. While most fixes are minor, there are a few new properties that increase the utility of the components. The noticeable changes are evident in Background Builder and Reverse Selector. Background Builder now features Dynamic Visibility capabilities, allowing a dashboard designer to control when background images are visible to end users. Reverse Selector is also extended to accept both row and column index numbers, expanding the insertion capabilities far beyond what was possible with version 1.0.

Thanks to a successful public beta from October 2008 to December 2008, Centigon Solutions is currently under development of GMaps Plugin scheduled for an early Q1 release. The public beta is no longer available for download on CentigonSolutions.com.
